An iconic Valencia hotel brought to a new life. Originally opened in 1913 and designed by the renowned architect Luis Ferreres Soler, Hotel One Shot Palacio Reina Victoria, truly feels like a palace in the middle of the beautiful city center of Valencia.

One Shot is known for their overhaul of classic buildings into a modern and contemporary style with custom interior design and one of a kind art lining their building’s hallways. Fortunately they still capture the respect for history and tradition, and it shows beautifully in this space. The sweeping marble staircase is just as grand as it must have been more than a 100 years ago, yet the chandeliers that decorate it are modern, contemporary versions of classic designs. The hotel is designed by architecture and design studio Alfaro – Manrique, and the style lends itself to a beautiful interplay between the historic and the modern, with each element bringing out the best in the other. The bar and lounge on the first floor are a classy affair, a 1920’s art deco Great Gatsby style of brass and velvet mixed with screens of gilded gold and vintage floral motives. Sitting by the large balcony windows, you can watch the palms sway and slow down, and look to the future with history behind you, guiding your way.

Our favorite wine bar in Valenciaboth for the proximity to old town, its friendly staff and the best selectionof wine is TintoFino Ultramarino, an Italian ownedlocals’ favorite. Order a board of their meat and cheese selection to snackwith your wine, you will not be disappointed.

Don’t miss out on Valencia’s main attraction, the Mercado Central if only to people watch the hustle and bustle and energy of Valencia residents. From discussing their plans for the day over a cortado and tostada to picking up orders from the butchers, or simple to collect fresh fruits and vegetables.
